Lyrics

Every day's a challenge, it's a test,
In school, at home, I try my best.
With ADD, my world's a different hue,
Not like the others, I'm someone new.

Why am I different, why can't I be the same?
Less trouble, less struggle, less to claim.
Should I take the pills that make me "normal"?
Or lose myself, just withdraw internal?

No matter the struggle, no matter the fight.
I'll make my own way, come what might.
I will say it loud, I will say it proud,
I'm not just another face in the crowd.

I'm tough, I won't give up the fight,
I'll find my place, in the dark and the light.
I'm different, I'm special, I'm just me.
But life is beautiful, I'm loved, I'm free.

I'm rewarded with creativity,
But it seems worthless in this reality.
Schools don't want it, the world's the same,
They just want robots, in this mundane game.

I see my therapist, it helps me cope,
She's my beacon, my source of hope.
But why do I need her, when others do not?
Is it God's will, to be the one who fought?

Now I'm of age, school's nearly won,
What's next, when all is said and done?
The future looms, vast and unknown,
But what lies ahead, I won't face alone.

I'm tough, I won't give up the fight,
I'll find my place, in the dark and the light.
I'm different, I'm special, I'm just me.
But life is beautiful, I'm loved, I'm free.

I'm different, I'm special, I'm just me.
But life is beautiful, I'm loved, I'm free.

I'm different, I'm special, I'm just me.
But life is beautiful, I'm loved, I'm free.
